DAY 21:  Your Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film – Children of Men (Alfonso Cuaron, 2006)

It really makes me wonder why this underrated gem wasn’t given the proper reception it richly deserves. The movie was intriguing from start to finish, and there are no boring scenes; all thanks to Cuaron’s very impressive direction. The script was nothing to be ashamed of as well, and all the action scenes did not look forced at all. As a matter of fact, you’ll have a visual orgasm especially with  captiovating cinematography done by Emmanuel Lubezki. That’s probably my favorite aspect of the film. I already imagined how good it would have felt if I saw it in the theaters.

Clive Owen was perfect for the role of the main protagonist while Julianne Moore, and Sir Michael Caine gave decent to noteworthy supporting turns as well. Notice how I did not say anything about what the film is at all? It’s because I want you to watch it yourselves with no expectations so you’ll have a genuine appreciation of what this film is about, and so that I won’t affect your movie watching experience of this film. 🙂
